Bring Your Kitchen Cabinet Project to Life

Follow the steps from your first consultation through cabinet design, ordering and delivery.

Design

Phase 1
Step 1: Initial Consultation + Free Estimate
●
Meet with Bre, our Studio Director, in Berkeley or virtually to talk through your kitchen project. Bring your existing plans for a cabinet estimate, or discuss how our team can help develop your layout. Your free estimate package includes 3D renderings to help you picture the design.
Step 2: Deposit to Secure Your Project
●
A $499 design deposit (credited toward your balance payment) officially launches your journey, locking in your project pricing for 60 days and allowing our design team to begin the work of refining your design. A $300 site visit fee (non-refundable) applies for in-person measurements and consultation.
Step 3: Measurements + Sample Review
●
Bring your existing plans or dimensions, or ask the team about measurement help. The measurement approach depends on your project and location. For an on-site visit, Crystal, our Design Director, takes field measurements and reviews physical door samples in your home’s lighting.
Step 4: Layout Refinements + Design Revisions
●
Once you engage Mod Cabinetry, you are assigned a senior or master kitchen designer. Work with your designer on cabinet placement, storage, finishes and practical details such as appliance and door clearances. Review the revisions together and approve the layout before ordering.

Build

Phase 2
Step 5: Balance Payment + Order Placement
●
After you approve the final design, your $499 design deposit is credited toward the project total. Final payment allows Mod Cabinetry to place your cabinet order. The order is checked against the plans before production; confirm the production schedule and lead-time start date with the team.
Step 6: Pre-Build Audit + Installation Preparation
●
Simon, our Master Designer, checks the cabinet order against the plans for inconsistencies before it goes into production. Mod Cabinetry also provides installation guidance for your chosen contractor, helping them understand the cabinet design before installation.
Step 7: The Build
●

Cabinets are built in the USA, with production times that vary by collection and order. Check the Production & Delivery Timelines page and confirm the current schedule with the team before placing your order.

Deliver

Phase 3
Step 8: Delivery Coordination + Contractor Support
●
Raphael, our Logistics Specialist, coordinates cabinet delivery, while Simon, our Master Designer, provides technical support for your chosen installer. Review access, receiving and storage arrangements with the team before delivery. Your contractor carries out the installation.
Step 9: Project Completion + Ongoing Support
●
Mod Cabinetry’s aftercare team helps with cabinet questions, warranty claims and replacement parts after delivery. Contact the team if something is missing or you need help with an order, so they can work through the next steps with you.

What clients say about the process

Read how clients describe working with the design team, choosing their cabinets and receiving their orders.

Design

"They helped us decide on the perfect cabinets that would match our mid-century architectural home, design a layout for a small kitchen that needs to accommodate lots of cooking and a husband who has published cookbooks for decades and is very much a cook/foodie, while also capturing the aesthetics that for me is at the center of everything."
Amy Glazer

Build

"I love the quality of these cabinets, how they open and close smoothly. Their finish speaks quality building processes and materials. Mod also helped me design the kitchen and suggested insert upgrades. The kitchen feels amazing. I liked it so much that I'm remodeling a second kitchen with Mod."
Vera X Ares

Deliver

"Went with the Euro cabinets, and they were gorgeous and shipped perfectly in excellent condition, well protected, packaged well, and white glove delivery service. There were two internal shelves missing from one of the cabinets that I couldn't learn about until after everything was delivered, but they were terrific about getting replacements sent to me expeditiously. Everything looks beautiful and is very high quality and modern. Would recommend in a heartbeat."
