
Crystal Collins, AKBD
Originally from Tahoe, Crystal began her career in kitchen & bath design over 20 years ago, where she first worked alongside Betty—now her co-owner—developing a shared foundation in thoughtful, client-focused design. She later joined Mod Cabinetry when it was known as EcoHome Improvement, before expanding her expertise working with high-end European cabinet lines in San Francisco. Crystal went on to found and operate her own kitchen design studio for many years, deepening her belief that great design starts with strong relationships and clear communication.
In 2026, Crystal acquired Mod Cabinetry with Betty, bringing her journey full circle. Known for her exceptional organization, Crystal has a natural ability to bring amazing people together. Her genuine love for people, design, and personal growth shapes both the client experience and the culture of the company.

Betty Scott, CID, AKBD
Betty brings over two decades of business leadership to the Mod Cabinetry team. She learned kitchen design in Truckee in the early 2000s alongside Crystal and has worked in cabinetry and construction buildouts ever since.
She enjoys the challenges of custom manufacturing—including millwork, casework, lighting, and upholstery—and is passionate about supporting skilled craftsmen in the U.S. and around the world.
Betty supports real estate projects across California and nationwide. She pairs design expertise with operational rigor, strengthening supply chain partnerships and leading design and construction efforts for a national retail salon brand.

Simon
Simon Allan has over 25 years experience designing kitchens out of his Design Studio and Showroom for some of England‘s most interesting homes and clients. From simple to baroque, loft to classic style his design flair is as versatile as his experience. Simon is the lead kitchen designer for clients who purchase a Mod design plan.

Monti
After earning her degree at Georgia Tech in Industrial Design, Monti began her career as a cabinet engineer and started designing kitchens in 2003. After over a decade of experience in the green building industry, Monti joined the team at Mod Cabinetry. She supports clients through their design process and leads them through the final steps to creating their dream kitchen.

Lauren
After earning her degree in Interior Design, Lauren began a career specializing in kitchen and bathroom design. This career path quickly developed into a passion. Lauren started designing cabinetry in a retail setting, and then began specializing her skills through custom design-build work. She has experience working with the novice homeowner to the experienced contractor or designer. Lauren is the Staff Designer at Mod Cabinetry for clients who purchase a basic kitchen or spaces design plan. Her role is to guide you through the design process, help you understand your cabinetry, and achieve your ideal aesthetic.

Heather
Heather began her journey in the world of kitchen design over 15 years ago, driven by a passion for transforming spaces into havens of functionality and beauty. Her career started in pro sales, where she honed her expertise in understanding the intricate needs of clients and translating them into bespoke kitchen solutions. Through her dedication and keen eye for detail, Heather quickly rose to the role of design manager, where she not only led teams but also inspired them with her innovative approach to home improvement sales.Heather’s journey is a testament to the power of vision and perseverance in the field of design.

Michelle
Meet Michelle – a true master of creating stunning kitchen and bathroom designs! Her passion flourished after completing a degree in Interior Design. Michelle began her career in cabinetry design and has since transitioned to creating custom design-build projects. Her journey has been a dynamic one, marked by a passion for creating innovative designs tailored to meet her clients’ needs with expert skill and panache.

Stephanie
Stephanie has 10 years of experience in the kitchen remodeling field. She hold a degree in Biochemistry from Simmons College, Boston. Prior to her years in the remodeling field she has was involved in land conservation for the National Forest Service and with the Army Corp of Engineers. Stephanie supports clients through the final stages of their remodeling projects.

Raphael
With a background in sales and real estate, Raphael manages Mod Cabinetry‘s logistics and shipping, working with production and carriers to move cabinetry from Point A to Point B all over the country. When he’s not in the office, you can find him enjoying the Bay Area’s beaches and hiking trails, searching for treasure at garage sales, or working on his vintage Rambler convertible.
