LIMITATIONS AND POLICIES
By proceeding with this order, you acknowledge and accept the following:
- Rendering Limitation: Renderings provided by Mod Cabinetry are artistic representations meant to help visualize your kitchen. The final appearance may vary due to natural variations in finishes, appliance fit and specification details, and the skill of the installer.
- Wood Sample Doors and Chips Limitation: The sample wood options, whether solid wood sample doors or wood chips, are provided to give a general representation of color and finish. However, due to their small size, they cannot capture all the natural variations in grain, color, or texture that may occur across full doors, drawers, or panels and within the project as a whole. If your order includes a slab-style wood finish that uses a real wood veneer on MDF, the appearance may vary from the solid wood sample chips available in the sample store. Wood is a natural material, and variations in grain patterns, mineral streaks, and how it absorbs stains or finishes are to be expected. These differences add to the unique character of your cabinetry in both individual pieces and the complete installation and are not considered defects.
- Shipping and Production Disclaimer: The production calendar on our website is created to the best of our ability based on current estimates. However, actual shipping and delivery times may vary, and cabinets may arrive earlier or later than expected. Please stay in contact with Logistics team for the most up to date information.
- Damage or Incorrect Claims Policy: You will have up to 14 days from the delivery date, whether to the job site or storage, to thoroughly inspect and document any product discrepancies. Important: Do not refuse delivery of damaged or incorrect cabinets, as this will delay the claims process. Do not install damaged or incorrect cabinets or trim as there are no reimbursement for the costs for removing the part and installing the replacement. Any claims must be submitted with a photo before installation and within the 14-day inspection window. Installation is acceptance of material.
- Field Repair Claim Policy: Any field repairs or alterations must be pre-approved before any work is undertaken. Approval will be granted based on the scope of the repair and must align with local wage standards and the necessary work. Any field repairs completed without prior written approval may not be eligible for reimbursement.
- Inconvenience Claims Policy: Mod Cabinetry does not accept any claims for refunds or compensation due to inconveniences caused by acts of God or human error including but not limited to backorders, shortages, shipping damages, manufacturing damage, shipping delays, weather conditions, extreme climate events, or pandemic-related disruptions. Mod Cabinetry is not liable for any costs as a result of such delays, including rescheduling of contractors, missed deadlines, or other project-related impacts.

MANUFACTURER WARRANTY
Limited Lifetime Warranty
Mod Cabinetry is a cabinetry retailer and is not the manufacturer or the warrantor of the products we resell. We act as your liaison to the manufacturer for any warranty claims. The manufacturer warrants its products to be free from defects in material and workmanship for as long as they are owned by the original homeowner. This warranty applies to cabinetry components used under normal residential conditions and is limited to the original purchaser of the cabinetry.
What is Warranted:
- Defects in Materials:
- Example: If a cabinet door or drawer front cracks, splits, or exhibits other structural issues due to defective wood or other materials used in the manufacturing process, the product will be repaired or replaced.
- Covered Items: Cabinet doors, drawer fronts, shelving, cabinet boxes, drawer boxes, hinges, and drawer slides.
- Workmanship Issues:
- Example: If the joints of a cabinet box or drawer come loose due to poor assembly, the affected component will be repaired or replaced.
- Covered Items: All cabinetry assembly, such as dovetail joints, mortise and tenon construction, and joinery of panels or frames.
- Hardware Failures:
- Example: If a hinge or drawer slide fails prematurely (e.g., soft-close mechanisms stop working), these parts will be replaced.
- Covered Items: Cabinet door hinges, drawer slides, and other hardware integral to the operation of doors and drawers.
- Finish Integrity:
- Example: If the finish on a painted cabinet door peels, chips, or deteriorates due to defective application, the finish will be repaired or the door will be replaced.
- Covered Items: Painted, stained, or coated finishes applied to doors, drawers, and cabinet panels.
- Structural Integrity:
- Example: If a shelf or cabinet box sags, warps, or loses structural stability under normal use, it will be repaired or replaced.
- Covered Items: Cabinet boxes, shelves, and internal cabinet components.
Warranty Conditions:
- This warranty applies only to products used under normal residential conditions. Products subjected to commercial use are not covered under this warranty.
- The warranty is valid only for the original homeowner and is non-transferable.
- The product must have been properly installed and maintained according to the manufacturer’s care guidelines.
Warranty Performance:
- The manufacturer reserves the right to inspect claimed defective products.
- The manufacturer reserves the right to approve or deny any warranty claim based on a thorough evaluation of the circumstances and in accordance with the terms of the warranty. Claims will be reviewed for validity, and decisions will be made with just cause.
- The manufacturer may elect to repair or replace any product covered by this warranty at their discretion, excluding labor costs.
- This warranty covers only the materials supplied by our partner manufacturer and does not cover the removal or reinstallation of countertops, appliances, plumbing, or other related materials.
- Due to natural and environmental factors, replacement products may not exactly colormatch installed cabinetry. The manufacturer cannot be responsible for such variances.
MANUFACTURER WARRANTY
Warranty Exclusions
At Mod Cabinetry, we take pride in partnering with top performing manufacturers and for delivering high-quality products. There are factors that fall outside warranty coverage. These factors include, but are not limited to:
- Specifications:
- The manufacturers reserves the right to substitute specified hardware and inserts with products of similar quality if necessary due to supply chain constraints.
- Customer expectations and industry standards may not always align, and such differences are not covered by the warranty. This includes standard industry practices such as acceptable measurement tolerances, veneer application, joint construction, expansion and contraction factors, and finish techniques.
- Edge banding is designed to complement the finish color, meaning it does not match the door and drawer finishes. Therefore, there is no warranty for edge banding matching doors and drawers.
- Installer experience and site conditions
- Installation issues arising from installer errors with European Frameless Cabinetry including but not limited to alignments and adjustments of panels, trim pieces, hinges and glides.
- Installation issues related to installation techniques of your appliances, or for any errors arising from incorrect, incomplete or vague appliance specifications provided by the manufacturer.
- Improper site prep such as uneven floors, out-of-square walls, and/or unlevel surfaces.
- Installation issues related to contractor errors which include but are not limited to reading plans incorrectly, cutting and trimming errors, not using best practices, damaging material during installation, trade damage etc
- Natural Variations:
- Variations in grain, color, or texture are inherent in natural wood products and are not considered defects. Natural variations in wood, including grain, color, texture, and mineral streaks are normal. Each wood species, including Walnut, Cherry, Maple, Rift Oak, Alder, and Sapele, exhibits distinctive patterns such as grain variances, mineral streaks, knots, and birdseyes. Differences within the same doors, panels, and cabinetry elements as well as within the cabinetry project as a whole are to be expected and are not considered defects. Such variations do not qualify for product replacement.
- Samples and Photographic Representation
- The images of finishes on this website are for general reference only. Variations in color, texture, and tone may occur due to lighting conditions and monitor or printer limitations. The final product may differ from online representations.
- Samples are for general guidance and are not an exact match for the final product. Due to the inherent characteristics of natural wood and the nature of the handcrafted finishing process, variations in color, grain, texture, and finish between samples and the final product are both expected and unavoidable. Samples provide only a limited representation of the final product, as they cannot fully capture the natural diversity found in wood. Larger installations will naturally display greater variation as different pieces of wood, each with its own unique grain and color characteristics, are combined.
- Color chips, small sample doors, or digital representations cannot accurately reflect the full depth, tone, and pattern that may emerge in the final cabinetry and that these natural variations in wood and finish are not considered defects these will not be grounds for replacement, repair, or refund.
- Sample chips are typically made from solid wood and are intended to provide a general representation of the color and finish. However, if your order includes slab-style doors, which are made using wood veneer over a core material (such as MDF), the final appearance may differ from the solid wood samples. Veneer can exhibit variations in texture, grain pattern, and color, as it is applied in thin layers and may react differently to stains or finishes compared to solid wood. These differences are inherent to the materials used and should be expected.
- Natural Aging:
- The natural aging process, including darkening, mellowing, or color changes in wood over time. Natural color variation occurs within and between wood species, and this variation can be influenced by environmental factors such as lighting. Changes in wood color due to aging, darkening, or exposure to light are expected and are not covered under warranty. These changes are inherent to the natural aging process of wood.
- All painted finishes, especially lighter colors, are subject to natural color changes over time due to environmental exposure, including sunlight, artificial light, airborne particles, and moisture. These changes are not defects.
- Stained wood may also change color over time due to similar factors. Cabinets added at a later date may not exactly match previously installed cabinetry, as wood ages and changes color naturally.
- Packaging, Improper Storage and Installation:
- Scuffs or scratches on the sides or backs of cabinets, which are concealed after installation, are not eligible for replacement or credit.
- Items that have been improperly stored or improperly installed.
- Cabinetry installed outdoors or in environments not suitable for indoor cabinetry.
- Improper Use and Care:
- Damage or defects caused by misuse, abuse, negligence, or modification in any way.
- Damage due to improper cleaning, maintenance, or misuse of cabinetry. Proper care is essential to preserve the appearance and structural integrity of your cabinetry. Harsh cleaners (e.g., bleach, ammonia) or abrasive materials can damage cabinetry finishes. Use only wood cleaners with a soft cloth, and dry cabinets thoroughly after cleaning to prevent moisture damage, particularly at joints and edges
- Damages caused by environmental conditions, such as excessive humidity, heat, or other extreme factors. Cabinets near heat sources like ovens or stoves can experience cracking, discoloration, or finish degradation. Humidity can cause wood to swell or warp, particularly in areas like bathrooms, adjacent to dishwashers or kitchens with poor ventilation. We recommend using exhaust fans and dehumidifiers to control moisture levels and wiping down cabinets immediately after exposure to water
- Outdoor use is not warranted and may result in damage due to exposure to elements such as moisture, extreme temperatures, and UV rays. Cabinetry exposed to outdoor conditions, including patios, outdoor kitchens, or areas without climate control, is not covered under any part of this warranty.
- Normal Wear and Tear Normal wear and tear refers to the gradual deterioration of cabinetry that occurs from regular, everyday use. These changes are natural and not considered defects. Below are common examples of normal wear and tear, which are not covered under warranty:
- Water Damage from Countertops: Water drips from countertops onto cabinetry surfaces, particularly around sinks or dishwashers. Over time, this can cause minor swelling or warping of wood due to repeated exposure to moisture. Preventative care includes wiping spills immediately to avoid long-term damage.
- Scratches and Nicks: Scratches from nails, rings, or everyday kitchen utensils (like pots and pans) are common in high-use areas, such as around handles or drawers. These minor surface imperfections are expected as part of normal use. Installing drawer liners or handling heavy items carefully can help minimize this.
- Surface Wear: Over time, cabinet doors may develop wear marks from repeated opening and closing, especially in high-traffic areas of the kitchen. Similarly, edges of doors and drawers may show signs of wear, such as slight dulling or small chips.
- Hardware Adjustments: Routine hardware adjustments, such as hinges, drawer glides, and other hardware, are not covered under warranty. Over time, normal use may result in loosening or misalignment of these components, which is considered part of regular maintenance. It is the responsibility of the homeowner to perform these routine adjustments. Minor misalignments or hardware adjustments are not grounds for product replacement under warranty. These adjustments are easily performed with standard tools, such as a Phillips screwdriver, and do not indicate defects in the product.
