• PLANNING FOR CABINET DELIVERY & STORAGE

Everything here is Important PLEASE READ

STORAGE PLANNING AND POLICY

1. Complimentary 14 calendar day coordination window.
2. Storage clock starts the day cabinets are received by the warehouse.*
3. After the 14 calendar day coordination window has passed, the charge is calculated at $2 per cabinet per day due bi-weekly.
4. The storage limit is 31 days after the 14 calendar day coordination window has passed, with a total of (45) calendar days maximum.
5. Split delivery adds a second delivery charge.
6. Sorry, no exceptions.

*”Ship by date” on the shipping schedule is a “ship by date,” and the cabinets can ship earlier. Storage is calculated by the date the cabinets are received not by the “ship by date.”

We have noticed that in the current climate it can take the logistics partner just a few days to give us a date, yet at times the soonest available date in your area can be up to 14-days out. The 14 calendar day coordination window accounts for this eventuality in availability. Do keep in mind that based on when you let us know your preferred dates, it’s possible the soonest delivery date is passed the 14 calendar day holdover window. Anything past the holdover window is billed as storage. Sorry, no exceptions.

After the 14 calendar day coordination window, the storage fee clocks start. On day 15 and up to the date the cabinets leave the warehouse, the charge is calculated at $2 per cabinet per day, and billed bi-weekly.

The storage limit is 31 days after the 14 calendar day calendaring window has passed with a total of (45) calendar days maximum. Sorry, no exceptions.

Storage fees are billed bi-weekly and are due in 3-days. A final storage bill will be sent and must be paid for prior to delivery. Sorry, no exceptions.

We sure hope that you read and understood the contract you signed and the notices we send which detailed storage costs. Storage is a pass-through cost, which means Mod Cabinetry gets a bill from the partner warehouse and passes the cost on as a storage invoice without a markup. The partner warehouses invest people, money and space for the duration of storage to cover oversight, space, insurance, and liability costs. Their bill is to cover their investment in safely and responsibly storing the cabinets. Once the storage invoice is paid, Mod Cabinetry initiates the process of scheduling started. Sorry, no exceptions.

Unpaid storage invoices in part or whole void the product warranty and after-sales care for anything that arises during or after installation. Sorry, no exceptions.

You paid for the transportation of the cabinets from the factory to the top of the driveway delivery. In-home delivery and storage are separate from transportation charges, and are considered add-ons. Please inquire for quotes if you need these add-ons.

Once you have your delivery day set, we strongly suggest that you keep it. Many hours of coordination go into preparing your delivery into the route and staging your cabinetry for the big day. If you need to reschedule, we need 72 hours notice. Anything less than that is subject to a change fee of $45 per cabinet. Sorry, no exceptions. If you schedule and miss a delivery, you WILL be charged the full delivery fee.

With the trend of delayed projects across the nation, homeowners are experiencing an increased need to store home improvement products longer than originally anticipated. Our partner warehouse supports some of the biggest brands in the cabinetry and home improvement industry, therefore through the cumulation of these delays, our partner warehouses are facing significant space issues and need to relieve storage pressures. The storage pressure is why they charge for storage and have limits. We adhere to their storage limits and pass all the costs without a mark-up.

PREPARING TO RECEIVE YOUR CABINETRY

VERY IMPORTANT MUST READ: Upon delivery, you will be reviewing your order’s Count and Condition. Ensure your Count and Condition are accurately documented by adding observational notes to the BOL, signing it off, and affirming all cabinets were carefully checked. Without both signature and detailed notes any Count and Condition discrepancies identified afterward are not replaced at no charge in the Shipping Protection* part of your warranty.

Your signature and your notes carry a lot of weight, so please read this carefully. You or your representative must make sure all of the cabinets on the load list are delivered (count), and check the packaging and condition of cabinets (condition). You will NOT be opening all of the boxes for shipping inspection, just check the count and condition as they come off of the truck. You have two weeks (14 days) after delivery to fully inspect your cabinetry and report any issues to Mod.

If you notice anything missing or damaged follow these instructions. You MUST make a clear note on the load list or Bill of Lading (BOL) paperwork before you sign it. While uncommon, if you notice any damage or possible damage, accept the cabinetry, but be sure to clearly mark it on the load list or BOL. We will work with you to remedy any concerns noted on the BOL.

Here are examples of Count and Condition observational notations:

  • “Missing”
  • “Visible Damage on Carton”
  • “Visible Damage on Cabinets”
  • “Possible concealed cabinetry damage” + reason you think their is possible damage.

Please have your phone handy and take photos of:

  1. The truck
  2. The cabinets in the truck
  3. The cabinets out of the truck
  4. Your signed BOL

The delivery company has up to 3 weeks to report back to us. To ensure the most efficient resolution please post any concerns immediately in your Project Portal. Please include photos covering #1-4 above and a description. This way we can take immediate steps toward a resolution.

NOTE: The cabinet faces are what you see when the cabinets are installed. These important areas are shipped with protection. If scuffs and scratches happen to the SIDES AND BACKS, don’t fret, these are areas that are not visible as they are covered with panels, mounted to other cabinets, or attached to the wall. Therefore, these are considered serviceable and not an issue for the final look of your kitchen.

  1. *VERY IMPORTANT* You will NOT receive a box marked “CONTROL BLOCK-PARTS.” This is the control sample held back at the factory for your project. It is normal that the pack label corresponding to Control Block is omitted from your order.

Review

  1. Print and review the Mod Cabinetry Layout-Installers Version given by the client. . This information is vital for correctly fitting and arranging cabinets. The plans include item numbers that match the load list.
  2. Retain and review the load list given by the delivery company or by the client.
  3. Retain and review the appliance specifications given by the client.

Verify

  1. Remeasure the kitchen space and compare the measurements against the shop drawings/cabinet plans. Verify the placement of electrical outlets, plumbing lines, and any other obstructions that may impact the cabinet layout.
  2. Check for out-of-plumb and out-of-level walls. Frameless cabinets require very flat walls for a proper flush fit. You will need shims behind or beneath the cabinets to adjust for any wall or floor imperfections. This helps keep the cabinets flush against the wall, level and aligned with each other.

Preparation

  1. Remove Shelves, Doors and Drawers
  • Label and remove doors to protect their fronts from damage during installation and by other trades. Store them safely with a protective blanket wrap.
  1. Dry-Fitting Cabinets
  • Before securing any cabinets, dry-fit or temporarily position each cabinet box and appliance in its planned location without fastening it. This allows you to check for proper fit and alignment.
  • Use shims behind the cabinets to level them against uneven walls during the dry-fit process. This helps identify any shimming needs before permanent installation.
  • Inspect for potential interference with appliances, windows, or other obstructions, and make necessary adjustments to the cabinet layout.
  1. Appliance Verification
  • Review the appliance specs carefully and cross-reference them with the cabinet plans to ensure proper fit and clearances in the designated appliance cabinet openings.
  • During the cabinet installation, prepare the appliance openings precisely according to the manufacturer’s specifications. Tape the spec sheets inside the openings as a reference.
  • Ensure that appliance cabinets like those for slide-in ranges or farmhouse sinks are installed with the proper depth and height to allow the appliance to fit flush and operate correctly.
  • Double-check that cabinet door swings and any filler panels will not interfere with the operation or venting of the appliances once installed.
  • If appliance panels need to be attached to the cabinetry, review those specifications as well

By thoroughly field verifying measurements and dry-fitting the cabinets before installation, contractors can identify and resolve any issues related to fit, alignment, or obstructions. This crucial step helps prevent problems and ensures a precise, professional installation of European frameless kitchen cabinetry.
